The original "what the heck is it"

For any of you that have been following this blog for any amount of time, you know about my little "what the heck is it?" series. Its fun, I enjoy it, but I've been slacking on it recently. I've been going through a bunch of old stuff today and I came upon this old print. About 4 years ago at Brooks I was playing around with a big ol' large format scanning back camera and came up with this photo. Whenever I showed the print to friends they all responded "What the heck is it?" So here you have it, the original "What the heck is it?"!

If you have already seen this and know what the heck it is, then don't ruin it for everyone and give away the answer! If you don't know what it is, whats the first thing that came to mind??? I'm curious to know! Leave comments...

we have the best friends ever!

Had an amazing time up in Santa Barbara with some great friends on Sunday/Monday! We are so blessed to have all of you guys in our lives... much love!

I am only posting a couple pics right now because it's 3:50AM and Bethany told me to be in bed by 4... so I'll have a lot more coming soon!

From left to right in the first pic- Taylor Abeel, Natalie Morris, Kerri Nicklas, Bethany Franger, Chad Cheverier, Me, and Peter Dawson. Tim Halberg didn't make it in the first pic but he's in the pic below. He is quite the wine connoisseur so he took us to a couple wineries in San Ynez... good times! Also in attendance but didn't make it in these 2 pics was Tims wife Cherl and the lovely Robin Dougherty! As you can see we all went to photo college together and were all crazy about our jobs as photographers... :)

Todays ULTIMATE MULLET

Driving along in good ol o-side today I spotted the second best mullet I have ever seen! Man this thing was looong and super authentic. What a sight.

To capture this beaut I had to put my best hunting skills to use. You see I was driving, so I was already even with him when I had spotted it, and he had already spotted me checkin him out. Off to a bad start... but I have no choice, I must press on and add this one to my collection. So I anticipated correctly that he was going to continue walking forward and not make any turns. So I quickly pull off the side of the road, and pretend like I'm taking photos of the beautiful picturesque apartments in front of me. Wait wait wait wait, he moves into frame... snap snap... I only got 2 quick shots off before it was way too obvious that I was totally sniping him out with my digimon. And when he was passing by he totally checked me out with a confused look why I might be taking his photo, but thanks to my mad hunting skills I continued snapping pics and played it off like I was a real estate agent taking pics for the apartments "for sale" website. Oh ya, I'm that good.
Only regret is not having my nice big Canon camera with a 200mm lens. Man that would have been great.

Anyway, here it is, in all it's glory! Add that one to the collection!
